AVC Women's Basketball dropped their first game in the Antelope Valley Holiday Basketball Classic on Thursday. The Marauders battled hard but lost 66-51 to Mt. San Antonio College.
Niyah Page got Antelope Valley off to a great start with ten first-quarter points, but the defense couldn't hold steady. Page finished with a game-high 23 points as well as ten rebounds. Josephine Ferreira led with a game-high 12 rebounds and also scored eight points. Fiona Ferry and Malaiya Patton had six points each.
Down 33 -31at the half, the Marauders came out a little flat to start the third quarter and only managed nine points. The defense struggled to contain the Mounties in the fourth period as they gave up 20 points the close out the contest. The Marauders will tip-off again at 7:00 pm on Friday against Barstow.
