SLOW START DOOMS MARAUDER WOMEN'S BASKETBALL IN CONSOLATION CHAMPIONSHIP 54-48 LOSS

SACRAMENTO CITY - it was the first time since Barry Green took over as coach of the Marauders that they played all four games available in the 16 team Sequoias Tournament, but the Marauders didn't seem to show up until the second quarter, and down 17-8, it was enough for Sacramento City to hold on to win the Consolation Championship 54-48.

Destini Price led the Marauders with 13 points, nine of those in the second quarter as AVC made a bid to cut the lead.

SOLANO - Shantanel Bivens scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds as the Marauders jumped out to a 21-6 first quarter lead against Solano and never looked back, advancing to the Consolation Championship game in the 16-team Sequoias Tournament for the first time with a 65-34 win.

GLENDALE - The Marauders staved off elimination against their Western State South conference rival Glendale, 61-38

SEQUOIAS - Marauder Women's Basketball's shooting woes continued in the first round of the Sequioas Tournament, hitting just three of 15 attempts in the fourth quarter against the host Giants and heading again into the Consolation Bracket with the 50-45 loss.

Shantanel Bivens led everyone with 15 points and 12 rebounds - Bivens was six for 12 from the field.

With the game tied at 45 with 2:50 left, AVC tried five shots, missing each of the them - two of which were blocked.
