SOFTBALL PICKS UP WINS AGAINST GLENDALE, LA VALLEY, AND EAST LA

Antelope Valley College Softball improved to 26-6 on the season with an 8-0 win against Glendale College, an 8-0 win at LA Valley and a 10-6 victory over East LA College.

Jeannette Camarena (2-for-3 with 2 RBI), Analise Memory (2-for-3), Jolene Miramontes (2-for-3), Natalia Hernandez (2-for-4), and Kaili York (2 RBI) were offensive leaders against Glendale, with Miramontes pitching 5 innings with 4 strikeouts.

Against LA Valley, both Marley Delgado and Jeannette Camarena had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Analise Memory recorded 2 RBI and a hit, with Natalia Hernandez and Jolene Miramontes recording 2 hits each. Miramontes added another win in the circle with 6 strikeouts.

Having won three in a row and 8 of their last 10 contests, the Marauders hosted East LA College in a non-conference game on Friday. Hartley Lundquist recorded 4 RBI, including a 3-RBI homer, her 4th of the season. Marley Delgado also hit a home run, her 10th of the season (2nd in the 3C2A). She finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Jeannette Camarena went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Natalia Hernandez, Mia Romero, and Kaili York recorded 2 hits each. Payton Marlin pitched all 7 innings with 5 strikeouts for her 13th win of the year.

AVC is 7-2 in conference and will honor their sophomores (Natalia Hernandez, Jolene Miramontes, Marissa Rodriguez and
Dana Roberts) as they host Bakersfield College in a crucial conference showdown on Tuesday, April 15 at 2:30 pm.
