AVC jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning, thanks to a 3-run home run from Kylie Zinn. Zinn leads the Marauders and is second in the Western State Conference South in RBI with 29. She shares the conference lead for home runs at 5 with 5 other players, including a teammate, Natalia Hernandez. Jolene Miramontes added another run in the inning, scoring off a delayed steal by Emily Centeno. Centeno pushed the lead to 6 with an RBI double in the third. Rebecca Sanchez followed with an RBI double to make it 7-0.
In the fourth inning, Kylie Zinn recorded another RBI with a double, scoring Natasha Arroyo. Gianna Mancilla then hit a 2-RBI double to close out the inning. Zinn finished 2-for-2 with 4 RBI. Cadence Crampton went 2-for-2, and Natalia Hernandez also recorded a hit.
AVC's defense was led by Helena Loera, who pitched all five innings, giving up just one hit and striking out five. The Marauders had no errors on the day.
Next up for the Marauders is a home game against LA Mission on Thursday at 2:30 pm, followed by a doubleheader against Santiago Canyon on Saturday.
