Team Stats
AVC Softball improved to 9-7-1 on the season with a pair of wins over the Cuesta College Cougars on Thursday. The Marauder bats came alive, totaling 24 hits with 10 home runs on the day to win game one 13-5, and game two 13-4.
Kylie Zinn led the home run charge with 3, 1 in game one and 1 in game two. Freshman Natalia Hernandez had 2 in game one, while Jayda Williams had 2, one in each game. Jolene Miramontes, Natasha Arroyo, and Angelina Quezada each recorded their first HRs of the season. Williams logged 6 RBI off 4 hits, while Miramontes had 6 RBI from 2 hits. Zinn finished with 4 RBI and 3 hits, Hernandez totaled 3 RBI from 2 hits, and Arroyo had 3 RBI as she went 3-for-3 in game two.
Quezada went 2-for-3. Denise Carrillo, Annalise Wagner, Rebecca Sanchez, Gianna Mancilla, Dana Roberts, and Lindsay Tye all recorded hits, with Wagner and Sanchez logging an RBI each.
In the circle, Helena Loera struck out 5 batters with no earned runs in three innings, Annalise Wagner pitched just over five innings (2 Ks), and Jolene Miramontes struck out 1 in two innings of work.
