AVC Softball won a non-conference contest 7-1 against the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines at home on Wednesday.
The Marauders totaled their 7 runs off 10 hits with 2 errors on the day. Down 1-0 in the 3rd inning, Natasha Arroyo hit a sacrifice fly to score Angelina Quezada and tie the game. AVC returned in the 5th inning to do most of their damage. With the bases loaded, Gianna Mancilla hit a 3-RBI double to clear the bases. Bella Escobar then doubled to score Mancilla. Arroyo followed Escobar with another double to give Antelope Valley a 6-1 lead. Natalia Hernandez added another run with an RBI double in the 5th inning.
Kylie Zinn and Jolene Miramontes both went 2-for-3 on the day. Miramontes also went the distance in the circle with 3 strikeouts and no earned runs.
AVC is now 5-5-1. Up next for the Marauders is a road game against Ventura on Thursday. They return home on Friday for a doubleheader against Santa Barbara City College.
