MARAUDERS CAN'T HOLD OFF LANCERS AT HOME
After beating Victor Valley in their home opener on Thursday, Marauder Softball fell to Pasadena City 7-6 on Friday.

AVC jumped out to an early lead and never trailed until the final inning. Natasha Arroyo hit a sacrifice fly to score Rebecca Sanchez in the 1st inning. The Lancers tied it at 1-1 in the top of the 3rd inning, but the Marauders responded with 4 runs in the bottom of the inning. Natalia Hernandez scored Arroyo on an RBI single, and Gianna Mancilla hit a 3-RBI single to score Hernandez, Emily Centeno, and Kylie Zinn.
Denise Carrillo then scored on a Rebecca Sanchez single to put the Marauder up 6-1 heading into the 6th inning. Pasadena cut into the lead, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. But it was a grand slam in the top of the 7th inning that put them ahead 7-6. AVC had a chance to regain the lead with runners on base in the bottom of the 7th but couldn't cash in.
Gianna Mancilla finished with 3 RBI, while Natalia Hernandez went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Natasha Arroyo went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Rebecca Sanchez recorded a hit and an RBI, and Denise Carrillo finished 2-for-2. Helena Loera had 4 strikeouts in the circle after three innings of work, and Jolene Miramontes had 4 Ks in relief.
The Marauders are now 3-2-1 and have stops at Moorpark, Palomar, and Mt. San Antonio before returning home on Tuesday, Feb. 20, to face San Bernardino Valley.
