Marauder Softball's Savannah Cervantes has committed to play for the University of Jamestown Jimmies in Jamestown, North Dakota.
The sophomore infielder from Ventura, CA, was instrumental in leading the Marauders to a WSC Conference championship this past season. She was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American, a 3CFCA Player of the Week, 3CFCA All-State South selection, and The Western State Conference Player of the Year.
Cervantes led the team in hits with 62 and was second in RBI with 35 on the year. She finished with a second-best 8 home runs and team-leading numbers for batting average (.521), slugging percentage (.840), and on-base percentage (.586). The third baseman sported a .949 fielding percentage appearing in 42 games.
She joins a Jamestown team who went 24-22 last season with a trip to the post-season. The Jimmies compete in the NAIA's Great Plains Athletic Conference under the leadership of Kevin Gall, who is in his 23rd season as the head coach.
