Marauder Softball has won four of their last five contests with a 9-1 win over College of the Canyons at home on Thursday.

Marauder Softball has won four of their last five contests with a 9-1 win over College of the Canyons at home on Thursday. They scored 9 runs off 9 hits and had no errors on the day. Jumping out to an early lead, AVC scored four runs in the 1st inning. Savannah Cervantes and Alanna Hernandez both hit 2RBI homruns. Cervantes has a team-high 5 home runs on the season and also leads AVC in RBIs with 22, while Hernandez is tied for second on the team with 4 home runs.
After surrendering one run in the 3rd inning, the Marauders bounced right back in the 4th when Cervantes recorded another RBI with a single to score Emily Centeno. In the 5th inning, Jayda Williams hit a 2-RBI triple, followed by a Natasha Arroyo RBI double to make the lead 8-1. Macayla Brown then helped put the game out of reach with a sacrifice fly to score Bella Escobar in the 6th.
Victoria Alcantar was efficient in the circle, throwing 65 of 97 pitches for strikes with 6 strikeouts.
AVC is now 14-11 (7-3 in conference) and has a doubleheader against Santa Barbara City College on Friday.
