AVC Softball lost a conference game 7-1 against College of the Canyons on Tuesday.
The Cougars scored a run in the first inning, and AVC responded in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single from Cadence Crampton. After three scoreless innings, Canyons broke the tie with a run in the fifth. The Marauders failed to respond as COC added another two runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh.
Antelope Valley made a push late but eventually left three runners on base in the bottom of the seventh. Natasha Arroyo went 2-for-3, while Savannah Cervantes and Crampton were the only other Marauders to record a hit.
Defensively, AVC had four errors on the day. Annalise Wagner (1 K), Emmeliz Sera (1 K), Victoria Alcantar, and Madison Reiser all saw action in the circle.
The Marauders (9-8 overall, 2-2 conference) will look to rebound on the road against Bakersfield before returning home to face Citrus on Friday, 3/10, at 1:00 pm.
