Marauder Softball closed out their regular-season home schedule with a 19-8 and a 15-3 victory over the San Diego Mesa Olympians on Friday.

Marauder Softball closed out their regular-season home schedule with a 19-8 and a 15-3 victory over the San Diego Mesa Olympians on Friday.
AVC honored sophomores Ariel Nieto, Nayely Delgado, Amy Manzo, Trinity Holman, and Mycaela Chavez between games. The five sophomores didn't disappoint as the offense poured in all day for the Antelope Valley. Manzo led the Marauders in game one with 7 RBI, going 3-for-4, including 2 home runs. Nieto finished 3-for-4 with 4 RBI, including a home run. Delgado had 2 RBI with a hit, while Holman (1 RBI) and Chavez also recorded hits.
AVC scored 4 runs in the 1st inning, 4 in the 2nd, and put the game out of reach with a 10-run 3rd inning. Both Savannah Cervantes and Natalie Gomez went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and scored twice, while Maeyll Grimes recorded an RBI. Emmeliz Sera went the 5-inning distance in the circle with 3 strikeouts.
Game two featured more of the same, with the Marauders totaling their 15 runs off 14 hits. Sophomore Nayely Delgado led the way with 6 RBI as she went 3-for-3. Ariel Nieto remained hot as well, going 3-for-3 with 3 RBI. Trinity Holman (1-for-2) and Victoria Alcantar (2-for-3) had 2 RBI each. Hailey Johnson went 1-for-2 with a run batted in, while Maeyll Grimes was 1-for-1 and scored once.
Victoria Alcantar led the way defensively, throwing 60 of 89 pitches for strikes with 5 K's.
The Marauders are 27-12 overall and 8-3 in conference. They close out the regular season on the road on 4/26 at College of the Canyons.
