Marauder Softball dropped a conference game to the Bakersfield Renegades 9-0. Thursday's loss was their first in conference play, and their first in the last eight contests.
AVC fell behind early as they surrendered 2 runs in the 1st inning and 4 runs in the 2nd inning. The Marauders couldn't get anything going offensively as they managed only 4 hits on the day compared to 11 hits by the Renegades. Savannah Cervantes had a solid day at the plate, going 3-for-3, including 2 doubles, while Natalie Gomez recorded the only other hit for Antelope Valley. AVC struck out 13 times.
The Marauders struggled defensively as well, committing 4 errors on the day. Victoria Alcantar (4), Madison Reiser (4), and Emmeliz Sera (5) combined for 13 k's in the circle.
Antelope Valley will travel to Ventura for a non-conference 3-game tournament this weekend against Moorpark, Santa Barbara, and Oxnard. Their next home game is on March 31st against College of the Canyons.
