Marauder Softball beat the LA Valley Monarchs 11-1 in a conference matchup at home. AVC went to work offensively right away, scoring in the 1st inning off Nayely Delgado's RBI double. Victoria Alcantar homered in the 2nd to put the Marauders up 2-0. The offense kept rolling in the 3rd, powered by home runs from Savannah Cervantes (2 RBI) and Nayely Delgado (1 RBI). Delgado (23) and Cervantes (21) lead the Marauders in RBI on the season, while Delgado and Alcantar lead in home runs with 3 each. Trinity Holman also recorded an RBI in the 3rd with a single.
The Marauders weren't done as they continued to swing the bats effectively in the 4th inning. Cervantes hit an RBI double, scoring Ariel Nieto. Delgado and Natalie Gomez each hit 2-RBI doubles to give AVC an 11-0 lead heading into the 5th inning.
Defensively, Antelope Valley had one error, and Emmeliz Sera hit spots consistently in the circle, finishing with 9 K's in 4.2 innings of work.
Nayely Delgado finished 3-for-3 with 4 RBI, while Savannah Cervantes ended with 3 RBI going 2-for-3. Natalie Gomez hit in 2 runs, and Ariel Nieto went 2-for-3 while scoring three times.
AVC has won 6 straight and 7 of their last 9 contests. They continue conference play on Thursday (3/22) at Citrus College before returning home to face Bakersfield College on Thursday (3/24).
