SYLMAR - Taylor Roberts had her best pitching outing of the season as she allowed only one hit, while striking out seven to help lead the Marauder softball team to a hard fought 2-0 victory against LA Mission.
With the victory, AVC remained a half game behind Canyons atop the conference standings.
The only hit Roberts allowed was a single to Alyanna Martinez. AVC's offense came with one run in the top of the sixth inning and one more in the top of the seventh.
Isbaelle Gomez and Katie Weiser each collected two hits. Valerie Dorantes was the lone AVC player with an RBI after she singled in Roberts in the top of the sixth inning giving the Marauders a 1-0 lead.
