On Wednesday, Antelope Valley fell behind Santa Barbara after losing the first two sets, 21-25 and 18-25. The Marauders then went on a run, winning the third set 25-20 and an even closer fourth set, 25-23. The fifth and final set went back and forth and came down to the wire, with AVC outlasting the Vaqueros 17-15 for the win. Jah'mi Jeter and Julian Green led the Marauders with 7 kills each. Bryan Luria had 6 kills and 3 blocks, while Luis Guerra finished with 5 blocks and 3 kills, and 5 digs. Alex Luria led AVC in digs with 7. Connor Wachala served up 32 assists along with 4 aces and 5 digs.
On Friday, AVC took a 3-3 record into another home battle with the El Camino Warriors. The Marauders dropped the first two sets again, 19-25, 24-26. They bounced back in the third set with a 25-20 win but couldn't take the 4th set, losing 20-25. Chance Cox led AVC with 11 kills and also had 12 digs, while Alex Luria had 9 kills against the Warriors. Connor Wachala had 37 assists, and Gamaliel Escobar led in digs with 13.
The Marauders will play Long Beach and Santa Monica on the road before returning home to face LA Pierce on March 11.
