MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS FOR MARAUDER MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

LANCASTER - Mark Cruz is optimistic for the 2018 season, however, with many new players many questions remain unanswered.

Still the Marauders should improve on their 1-13 season from a year ago.

"I'm real excited and I hope we'll do better than last season," said Cruz "We have a bunch of new players and hopefully they'll be able to perform at this level. We're more skilled than last year."

One of the newcomers that Cruz is excited about is Joey Medina, who transferred from the University of Charleston. Cruz said that Medina will open the season as AVC's starting setter.

"He's our quarterback," said Cruz. "Really things are too early to know. I know that our newcomers have been successful where they've been. I hope our guys can fill into their roles."

Matt Lee will be a key contributor this season. The 6'6" Lee finished his season last year at Quartz Hill High School with 162 kills and 34 blocks. Cruz said that Joseph Humphrey is much improved and will relied upon heavily this season.

The Marauders open their season at home against San Diego-Mesa, a team that easily handled the Marauders last season. AVC's lone win came against Palomar last year.
