BRAZILL TAKES WOMEN'S 200/CARTER TAKES MEN'S 100 AS AVC HOSTS WSC MINI MEET

Antelope Valley College hosted its first of three scheduled Western State Conference track meets this past Friday. Joining the Marauders in the Triangular Meet were Bakersfield College and Santa Monica College.
Meet highlights for Antelope Valley included Briann Brazill winning the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 27.85. Brazill also placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.94.
Jalina Colar placed second in the women's shot put with a distance of 9.6m, while Kasey Gibbs placed third with an 8.44m distance. Colar also finished second in the javelin throw at 16.69 meters.
Gibbs took first place in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 26.87 meters. She also placed second in the discus throw with a distance of 26.83m.
On the Men's side, Dante Carter led the way for the Marauders in the sprints. Carter placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.47. He also placed second in the 200-meter sprint with a 23.15 time.
Terrence Fizer placed second in the 200-meter with a 23.60 time, while Alfred Moore placed third in the 100-meter with a time of 12.15.
Fizer ran a tine of 53.79 seconds in the 400-meter dash, which was good for second place, while Quincy Lee placed third with a time of 54.32.
In the relays, AVC's team of Carter, Fizer, Moore, and Lee placed second in both the 4x100-meter (44.88) and the 4x400-meter (3:48.12).
In the throw, AVC's Xavier Tathum placed first in the discus throw at 39.21 meters. Tathum also placed second in the hammer throw.
Donavan Brown placed second in the shot put with a distance of 10.88m, while Ethan Wood place third at 10.84m. Wood also placed third in the discus throw with a distance of 28.39.
