Bio

Melvin Valladares has been with Marauder Athletics since 2013. He served as an assistant for Women's Soccer for three seasons and has been the Head Assistant for Men's Soccer since 2016.

Melvin played attacking center mid four seasons at John H. Francis Poly High in Sun Valley. He served as captain for all four years and earned 1st Team All-Conference from1990-1993. Melvin earned an associates degree from Antelope Valley College in Kinesiology. While attending California State University, Northridge, Melvin maintained active in the sport by making RS status at the Division 1 level.

Coach Valladares continues to help the community through the sport. He was the President/Founder of Palmdale's Universal Futbol-Soccer Club Academy League in 2005, the President/Founder of the Lightning Soccer Club in 2009, as well as the Girls Varsity Head Coach at Pete Knight High School 

Melvin is a proud father of two, Steven Valladares (a San Diego State University graduate) and Valerie Valladares (a Monterey Bay graduate). Coach Valladares lives in Palmdale with his wife, Jacqueline. In his free time, he enjoys playing and coaching club soccer, watching action movies, camping, and spending time with his family. His main goal is to become the Head Coach of a collegiate soccer program.
