MARAUDER SOCCER PROGRAM UPDATE
Hello Family, Friends, and Fans of Antelope Valley College Marauder Soccer!
Hello Family, Friends, and Fans of Antelope Valley College Marauder Soccer!
Preseason has kicked off with much success. Our men's and women's teams have enjoyed numerous lessons, which will prove highly beneficial as we move forward with an increased focus and determination both on and off the field.
Academically, our student-athletes are working diligently to succeed as they strive to complete their degrees. Our study hall sessions are at an all-time high, and the student-athletes have embraced the tutoring options when needed, helping to prove the value of team collaboration in achieving high-level results. The support of Antelope Valley College has proven outstanding, especially in the areas of student-athlete welfare, academics, physical and emotional well-being, social development, personal growth, health and wellness, and career and community service opportunities.
Additionally, we would like to thank everyone for their continued backing in providing a great experience for each person involved. The administration and staff have provided great guidance and unwavering care for the student-athletes and the program. Our student body has shown great enthusiasm in attending Marauder soccer events, and our Antelope Valley community has been incredible in providing a top level of enthusiastic encouragement with support of the program.
Furthermore, realizing the season is a marathon and not a sprint, the goal of both teams is to progress each week and give our best as we elevate through our core values. Focused on our goals and motivated to perform at the highest level, the players are combining their strengths and working persistently on our areas of growth to develop stronger teams and earn noteworthy results.
Accordingly, with the power of each team member holding equal value while displaying team spirit, loyalty, and determination, both teams continue to work assiduously to enjoy the ability to pursue and demonstrate their capabilities through a wide range of high-quality athletics, classroom learning, and community-building activities. Our Marauder Men (currently 1W-1L-3T) and Marauder Women (currently 3W-2L) look ahead to applying lessons learned and remaining a source of pride for the citizens of our Antelope Valley.
Lastly, in the infamous spirit and wisdom of John Wooden, it's important to note that "what you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a soccer player." In doing our best to execute high levels of performance and earn positive accomplishments during the student-athlete experience, we will use metrics as a way of measuring performance beyond the score of a game. Whether behavioral/skills-oriented or outcome-related, we at Antelope Valley College will raise the focus on several key aspects that indicate victory with purpose and honor.
GO MARAUDERS!
Sincerely,
~Head Coach Coach Charles Gordon and the Marauder Soccer Staff
