Marauder Men's Soccer recorded their fifth tie of the season with a 4-4 final against College of the Canyons on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first half, AVC fell behind 2-0 in the conference battle after giving up goals in the 55th and 58th minutes. They responded at the 60:52 mark with a goal from Jayden White, assisted by Francisco Brasiliano. Canyons fired back three minutes later to go up 3-1. AVC responded three minutes after that with an unassisted goal from Guilherme Valenca to pull within a goal.
In the 83rd minute, Jaret Rojas tied the game with a goal assisted by Casey Ramirez. Rojas leads the Marauders in goals on the season with 6. The Cougars scored at 88:56, and it looked as though they would walk away with the 4-3 upset, but the Marauders came right back to score less than a minute later and just before the end of regulation play at the 89:53 mark. Makuochukwu Ene scored a spectacular header with an assist from Chance Shearer to secure the tie.
The Marauders are 4-3-5 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. They play away at Citrus before returning home to face Bakersfield on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 2:00 pm.
