Men's Soccer captured their first win since their September 6th bout against Compton with a 5-3 win over Glendale College at home on Friday.
AVC got off to a quick start with an unassisted goal from Jaret Rojas and a score from Christian Gomez, assisted by Chris Romero, in the first ten minutes of the contest. Francisco Brasiliano then added an unassisted goal, followed by Chris Romero's goal, assisted by Tyler Orantes, giving the Marauders a 4-0 lead.
After Antelope Valley surrendered a goal making it 4-1, Romero scored his second goal of the day and fourth of the season with an assist from Ricardo Cento Oropeza. The Marauders gave up two more scores but held on for the win. Daniel Pantaleon had 4 saves on the day, while Bryan Rios Martinez had 1 save.
The Marauders, 1-0 in conference play and 4-3-4 overall, will host Canyons next, on Tuesday, October 18, at 12:30 pm.
