An AVC Men's Soccer match against the Santa Barbara Vaqueros ended in a 2-2 tie on Tuesday. It's the second tie in three games for the Marauders and the third tie on the season.
The Vaqueros scored an early goal in the fifth minute of play, but the Marauders responded quickly when Tyler Orantes scored his first goal of the season to tie it up. Sergio Garcia provided the assist, also his first of the year. AVC owned most of the momentum in the second half as Orantes scored his second goal of the day off an assist from Chris Romero at the 77:55 mark.
Antelope Valley played good defense up until the last seconds of the match. Santa Barbara was able to chip it in for the tie with less than a minute left to play. The Marauders totaled 8 shots, 3 on goal in the match. They'll take a 3-2-3 record on the road with them for a battle with Santa Monica before returning home to face Norco on October 4th in their last match before conference play begins.
