Men's Soccer won an important conference match against Glendale College 2-1 at home on Friday.
The Vaqueros arrived at AVC looking to redeem themselves from a 2-1 loss to the Marauders earlier in the season. The Marauders would deny them that redemption in an intense battle that would be decided in the last minutes of the match.
AVC struck first with a Fabian Duran goal assisted by Bryan Lima at the 35:01 mark. Glendale tied it up with a controversial goal in the second half.
The match would remain tied until Bryan Lima scored on a last-minute penalty kick. AVC fought off several attacks during five minutes of additional time. The Marauders totaled 16 shots, eight on goal while limiting Glendale to five total shots and three on goal during the match. Daniel Pantaleon recorded one save on the day.
AVC has an away match against Bakersfield before returning home on Friday, Nov. 5, to face Citrus in their final regular-season home match.
