Marauder Men's Soccer starts the season 1-1 after splitting two games with College of the Sequoias on Friday and Saturday.
In the first game playing together, the Marauders found themselves enduring great lessons Friday evening as they hosted the Giants. The Marauders began the game taking an early lead in the first half on a goal produced by freshman Luis Avila.
Sequoias would tie the game 1-1, only to see the Marauders regain the lead 2-1, with a goal by Bryan Lima. Eventually, Sequoias would convert two more times and earn a 3-2 victory.
Saturday would prove that the value of lessons learned would ultimately help the Marauders produce a convincing 3-1 victory over the Giants.
The Marauders entered into halftime with a 2-0 lead from goals by Victor Jimenez and Oscar Carrasco. Jason Quevedo would complete the final goal in the second half for a 3-1 victory.
David Rodriguez Tafoya and Brian Lima were instrumental in the middle of the field, as the entire backline of Ricardo Ramirez Martinez, Diego Chavez Torrez, Kaylon Williams, and Cade Lasley played very well. Also, Daniel Pantaleon was solid in the net.
The Marauders (1-1) will take on the Bakersfield Renegades (3-0-1) in a two-match series this weekend. AVC will host first on Friday, March 26th at 3:00 pm, then travel to Bakersfield on the 27th for the rematch at 3:00 pm.
