Antelope Valley College Men's Soccer finished their regular season schedule with a 0-0 tie against College of the Canyons on Tuesday. It was the Marauder's eighth tie overall and fifth in conference play, ending their regular season record at 7-5-8 (2-1-5 conf.)
The Marauders were in desperate need of a win to keep their hopes of winning their conference alive. Instead, they will now hope to make the playoffs through the points system, based on their overall record and strength of schedule.
Antelope Valley had plenty of chances with 19 shots throughout the contest, led by Rodrigo Martinez with six, and Bryan Lima with five. The game saw fast-paced action for the entire 90 minutes, with neither team being able to find the net. The Cougars managed 14 shots as Marauder goalie Matt Garcia recorded a game-high seven saves.
Freshman Bryan Lima led the Marauders this season with 11 goals and eight assists, followed by Rodrigo Martinez, who had nine goals. Fabian Duncan finished with five goals, while Christopher Cortez ended with four.
