JAZWIECKI AND PHILLIPS ADVANCE TO SO CAL GOLF REGIONALS
Antelope Valley College Men's Golf completed play at the Western State Conference league finals at Crystalaire Country Club.
The Marauders finished 6th with a season-best team score of 406 in the second round of the 36-hole competition. "It was nice to see the team put together a respectable score and end the season on a positive note," said head coach Brad Hazard.
Individually, sophomores Ethan Phillips and Connor Jazwiecki will advance to compete in the So Cal Regional Championships at Los Serranos-South Golf Course in Chino Hills.
Phillips secured his individual spot at Regionals with a first-round score of 76. He has been the most consistent player all season for AVC, finishing the season with an average score of 78. "His hard work and dedication has paid off, and earning the opportunity to play at regionals is well deserved," Hazard commented.
Jazwiecki, a product of Quartz Hill High School, had a two-round score of 160 and was able to secure the one at-large spot with his performance. Connor, who has been playing solid golf lately, displayed a positive mindset and took advantage of his chance to play a course where he had previously been successful.
"I'm proud of our two sophomores. Making it to So Cal Regionals is quite an accomplishment and was our goal for the season. I look forward to them representing the college and our golf program at Los Serranos," noted Hazard.
