PHILLIPS LEADS AS MARAUDERS COMPETE AT OJAI
Antelope Valley College Men's Golf finished 6th, beating out Allan Hancock and Bakersfield at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai. Host team College of the Canyons finished first, followed by Ventura.
Ethan Phillips led the Marauders with a 76 on the day, followed by Carson Ireland and Connor Jazwiecki. Ethan's solid round included two birdies on the front 9 as he was able to par out his final 8 holes to finish with a top-10 score on the day.
"I feel solid with how I did today. Things started a little shaky, but I've been working hard on my mental game and body language, so it was nice to bounce back after some early mistakes and see the work I have put in pay off," said the sophomore from Santa Clarita.
Head coach Brad Hazard commented, "I'm proud of Ethan's performance today. He really managed his game well. He's in a great groove and playing with confidence as we head into league finals."
Next, the Marauders will host the Western State Conference Finals in a 36-hole competition at Crystalaire Country Club on Monday, April 28.
