MARAUDERS SHOOT A SEASON-BEST AT AVCC
Overall, Coach Hazard was pleased with how his team competed as he looks forward to carrying their momentum into their next event at Alisal Ranch.
Tanner Klundt led AVC with a 72 on Monday's round at Antelope Valley Country Club. He recorded 4 birdies on the day but struggled to finish with 3 straight bogies. His score was good enough for a 4th place finish on the day. AJ Ryland of Ventura shot a 65 to lead all golfers.
"I'm proud of Tanner's performance. He came in extremely focused and was able to put together an excellent round at home," said head coach Brad Hazard.
"Playing at our home course is always fun, and for me to shoot 72 made me feel that much better about myself and where my game is headed. I even had a chip in for birdie early in the round, so that boosted my confidence for the rest of the day," remarked Klundt.
Connor Jazwiecki shot a 78, and Drew Degeorge shot an 82, followed by Ethan Phillips (83) and Luke Carnegie (84). AVC posted their best score of the season at 399.
Jazwiecki's confidence led to his solid round as he continues to improve. "Today, I had a decent round and another round to build on. My putting was good, with 29 putts, but I made a few mistakes that showed up in my score. I'm gaining confidence in my course management, and I'm taking my mistakes and incorporating them into my practice routine," said Jazwiecki.
Overall, Coach Hazard was pleased with how his team competed and represented this round, and he looks forward to carrying their momentum into our next event at Alisal Ranch.
