VALENCIA - The Marauder men's golf team struggled in its opening match of the season at the Valencia Country Club, hosted by College of the Canyons.
"It was a humbling experience for our freshmen," AVC head coach Brad Hazard said. "Those were not the results we were looking for entering into conference play, but we will use this as a learning experience and continue to work on the parts of the game that cost us strokes."
Trevor Hoffmeyer was the low scorer for the Marauders as he shot an 88. Dylan Schuloer finished three strokes behind Hoffmeyer with a 91 and Cory Renfrow was the third finisher for the Marauders with a 97. Joey Herrera of Ventura and AJ Roa of Glendale had the best round of the day with a 76.
Ventura had the low total score of 388, followed by Santa Barbara City and College of the Canyons.
