MURRIETA - Marauder golfer Mike Weis shot his best round of the season with a 75, however, his team shot its highest score of the season Monday afternoon at Bear Creek Golf Club.
"This feels really good especially getting ready for finals. It's good to have a couple of good rounds under my belt," said Weis. "All it's about is minimizing the big errors. I have a lack of finishing rounds. The momentum doesn't stop until that 18th hole."
AVC finishes its final round of the season with conference finals, next Monday at the Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield. Then it's off to regionals for possibly both Weis and Jonathan Hand.
Oh by the way, regionals will be held at the course Weis just shot his best round.
"I'm so excited to go back there," Weis said. "I love the course and it fits my game."
Hand shot his worst round of the season with a 95. Hand's previous high score of 90 was the first match of the season in Valencia. The good news for Hand is that he gets to drop his two lowest scores of the season in his quest to make it to regionals.
