MARAUDER MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES SIXTH IN CONFERENCE OPENER
VALENCIA - The Marauder men's golf team finished sixth in the conference opening match hosted by College of the Canyons and held at the Valencia Country Club, Monday morning.
AVC's Mike Weis topped the list for the Marauders and finished sixth overall shooting a +5 (77), including two birdies on the day. Weis shot even through 15 holes but stumbled the final three. Noah Ray shot a +16 (88) on the afternoon and was the Marauders' second best scorer of the day.
"High winds made for a long day for most players," AVC head coach Brad Hazard said. " Even with these types of conditions we are capable of posting better scores. Weis was in a good rythmn today. He played smart golf and didn't play too aggressive in the difficult conditions. I look for him to continue to compete with the top golfers in conference."
COC took home the team scoring finishing with the low combined score of 384, followed by Ventura (403), Santa Barbara (412), Citrus (428), Allan Hancock (438), AVC (441), Glendale (476) and Bakersfield (515). COC's Will Barnett had the low score of the day with a -2 (70).
Johnathan Hand shot a 90 on the day and teammate Bryce Baker finished the round with a 92 for the Marauders.
