GLENDORA - In one of the strangest games played by the Marauder men's basketball team in years, AVC took a seemingly commanding 13-point lead into halftime.
That was the only bright spot for the Marauders as they were outscored 52-26 in the second half and lost to Citrus, 80-67, in the battle of conference unbeatens.
The Marauders took their largest lead of the game 50-32, following a 3-pointer by Greg Floyd (17 points), but the Owls were resilient and were dominant the rest of the way as they went on a 20-2 run over the next nine minutes to tie the score 52-52. AVC couldn't recover from that blow and Citrus kept moving forward for the victory.
Osi Nwachukwu finished with 16 points and seven rebounds.
