LANCASTER - The Marauder men's basketball team took home third place at the Compton Tartar Classic after defeating Glendale, 70-62, Wednesday afternoon.
It was the second day in a row the Marauders faced a conference opponent. On Tuesday evening AVC lost in the semifinals to Citrus, 80-77.
Osi Nwachukwu led the Marauders with 18 points and finished with nine rebounds. D'Mauria Jones added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Wesley DeJesus had a perfect shooting night. He was 3-of-3 from the field, including 1-for-1 from 3-point range, and 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
AVC's defense was solid holding the Vaqueros to only 30 percent shooting. The Marauders, which only connected on one 3-pointer against Citrus, hit six on Wednesday.
