SAN BERNARDINO - D'mauria Jones led the Marauder men's basketball team with 28 points, but it was not enough as West LA defeated AVC, 93-86, at the San Bernardino Valley College Tournament, Saturday evening.
AVC will face East LA for third place in the tournament after the Huskies fell to host San Bernardino, 94-70, in the other semifinal game.
Both teams shot the ball well as West LA was 50 percent for the game while the Marauders were 48 percent, however, the Wildcats were 47 percent from 3-point range, something AVC head coach John Taylor said his team has to do a better job of defending.
Julian Payton finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists and Osi Nwachukwu added 17points.
