MARAUDER MEN'S BAKETBALL'S MAGIC FAILS - LOSES BY 21 AT BAKERSFIELD

BAKERSFIELD - For the first time since joining the Western States Conference, the Marauder men's basketball team lost two conference games in one season.
The second loss this season in conference play came at the hands of Bakersfield College, 95-74, on Wednesday night. The Marauders already lost a conference game earlier this season to West LA College. Previously AVC had only lost once the past two seasons, both coming on the road at Citrus College.
The Marauders struggled in the first half and found themselves trailing by 14 points at halftime. AVC played better in the second half, but was still outscored 48-41 by Bakersfield College.
The Marauders had three players in double figures, Jalen Etienne (14 points), Joseph Moorer (13 points) and Chris Martin (10 points).
Bakersfield College had all five of its started score in double figures, including Deandre Dickson (16 points, 10 rebounds), Nick Velasquez (21 points, nine rebounds), Jameik Riviere (15 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds) and Lawrence Moore (13 points, eight assists, seven rebounds). Bakersfield College's starters accounted for 78 of the team's 95 points.
AVC had trouble from behind the arc finishing only 3-of-18 from 3-point range. The Marauders finished the game shooting only 37 percent.
