MARAUDERS REMAIN TOP OF CONFERENCE WITH BLOWOUT WIN OVER PIERCE
AVC Football defeated the Pierce Brahmas 55-7 in a home conference match-up on Saturday. The Marauders are a perfect 4-0 in conference play (7-2 overall) and are in first place in the SCFA's American Pacific League standings.

AVC Football defeated the Pierce Brahmas 55-7 in a home conference match-up on Saturday. The Marauders are a perfect 4-0 in conference play (7-2 overall) and are in first place in the SCFA's American Pacific League standings.
Antelope Valley opened it up early in the first quarter with a pair of touchdown runs from Amir Bankhead, followed by a 70-yard Reece Robinson receiving touchdown from Caden Hinton. Hinton finished 9-13 passing with 181 yards and three touchdowns on the day and has thrown for over 1,600 yards and 13 touchdowns on the year. Bankhead leads the Marauders on the ground with 479 yards rushing and six touchdowns on the season.
Antelope Valley didn't let up scoring a safety and two more touchdowns in the second quarter. Hinton connected with Carlos Hill for a 20-yard touchdown and Joshua Clark for a 16-yard touchdown to give the Marauders a 34-0 lead at the break.
In the third quarter, Davon Jones caught his fourth touchdown pass of the year on a 70-yard catch and run from Brycen Blankenship. Jones leads AVC in reception yards on the season with 705, while Hill leads with nine touchdowns. Emery Floyd recorded a touchdown pass on a 75-yard strike to Jonathan Jean.
The Marauder's defense, led by Augustin Lorfils Jr (6 tackles) and Esai Martinez (5 tackles), held the Brahmas to 177 total yards of offense. The defense also recorded a touchdown when Kevin Holley intercepted a pass and returned it for a 62-yard score.
AVC will wrap up their regular season play with a home contest against Moorpark next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
