MARAUDERS TOP OWLS 31-21
AVC Football improved to 2-2 on the season after a 31-21 victory over the Citrus Owls at home on Saturday.

AVC Football improved to 2-2 on the season after a 31-21 victory over the Citrus Owls at home on Saturday.
The Marauders took the early 7-0 lead off a 2-yard touchdown run from Michael Clark and never trailed. They then capped off a 13-play, 77-yard drive with a 16-yard field goal by John Henderson for a 10-0 lead at the half.
Citrus got on the board with a touchdown in the third quarter, but the Marauders responded when Davon Jones caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Caden Hinton. Jones had a game-high 96 yards receiving. He also leads the Marauders on the season with 19 receptions and 323 yards through four games.
The Owls pulled within a score early in the fourth, but AVC answered again when Amir Bankhead broke free for a 59-yard touchdown run. Bankhead led all rushers with 85 yards on seven carries.
After the Owls stalled on the next series, they punted to AVC's R'mon Huff, who returned it 54 yards for a touchdown and a 31-14 Marauder lead. Citrus found the endzone one more time to make the final score 31-21.
AVC's Caden Hinton finished 20-for-45 with 277 yards and one touchdown. Dazhon Sanders led the Marauder defense with 9 total tackles. Augustin Lorfils Jr and Xavier Tatham finished with 8 tackles each, while Dylan Hall recorded an interception returned for 20 yards.
AVC (2-2) will battle West LA on the road on Oct. 9th before returning home to fave LA Valley in a conference game on Oct. 16th.
