ENZO FANTAU-BARKER RECEIVES SCHOLAR ATHLETE-AWARD, SIGNS WITH MOREHEAD STATE
Marauder Football's Enzo Fantau-Barker has committed to play for the Morehead State University Eagles. Fantau-Barker totaled 52 tackles, 2 sacks, 5.5 tackles for a loss, and 2 interceptions throughout two seasons with AVC. The 6'1, 220-pound linebacker came to Antelope Valley College from Quartz Hill High School, where he helped lead the Rebels to a CIF Championship.
Fantau-Barker recently received the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame's Scholar-Athlete Award. Since 1947, the National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame (a non-profit educational organization) has run programs designed to use the power of amateur football in developing scholarships, citizenship and athletic achievement in young people.
Enzo will join the Division I Eagles, who went 5-7 last season with wins against Butler, Valparaiso, and Kentucky Christian. Morehead State competes in the Pioneer Football League, where they have won four Division titles (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005), and two Conference titles (1962, 1966). The Eagles are currently coached by Rob Tenyer (30-50), who is in his eighth season at Morehead State.
The Marauder credits great support around him for helping him achieve success and continue on his journey. "I'm blessed to be in the position that I'm in, and I'm grateful for the support I've had around me." said Fantau-Barker. "My grandparents and my mom gave me their full support in everything I've set out to accomplish. I want to thank all my coaches at AVC for everything they've done for me while I've been there. My nana passing gave me a new motivation to succeed, and I'm happy I can make her proud." he added. Enzo seeks to make an immediate impact at Morehead State.
