PERDUE COMMITS TO UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII
AVC Football's Jalen Perdue has committed to play for the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
AVC Football's Jalen Perdue has committed to play for the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. The 5'10, 170 pound sophomore from Antelope Valley High School has played defensive back for the Marauders for the last two seasons. This past season, Perdue was an SCFA 1st Team All-Conference selection and finished a team-high 385 kick-return yards, one touchdown, and 22 tackles. He was also tied for a team-high three interceptions.
Perdue finished his career at AVC with 562 return yards, 53 tackles, and four interceptions. He joins a University of Hawai'i team that went 10-5 last seasons with wins over San Diego State, UNLV, Arizona, Oregon State, and San Jose State. They capped a memorable 2019 season with a dramatic 38-34 win over Brigham Young in the SoFi Hawai'i Bowl on Christmas Eve at Aloha Stadium.
The Rainbows compete in the NCAA Division I, Mountain West Conference Football, and have 2020 games scheduled against UCLA, Oregon, and New Mexico State. Todd Graham was formally introduced as the University of Hawai'i's 24th head football coach at a press conference on January 22, 2020. Graham has previously served as the head football coach at Rice University, the University of Tulsa, the University of Pittsburgh, and Arizona State University.
