In their Western State Conference series, Marauder Baseball took two of the three games against Citrus College. After narrowly losing the first game 16-13 at home, the Marauders bounced back to take game two 14-7 at Citrus and the final game 17-1 at home.
AVC totaled 44 runs off 50 hits, with 6 errors in the three games. Offensive series leaders for the Marauders were Jose Vazquez, who had 9 RBI and 8 hits, including a HR, in addition to scoring 6 times. Chuck Lang went 5-for-8 with 7 RBI and a HR, and KB Bell had 7 RBI with 4 hits, including a HR. Cody Turner had a 3-homerun outing in game 2 and finished the series 7-for-12 with 5 RBI.
Gavin Klennert had a solid series with 8 hits and 4 RBI. Jacob Baxter had 6 hits with 3 RBI, Braydan Salinas had 4 hits and an RBI while Elias Frainier recorded 2 hits and 2 RBI.
Eleven different pitchers saw action in the series for AVC, with Cody Turner (29), Ashton Fitzpatrick (24), and Gilberto Beltran (20) facing the most batters. Turner, Fitzpatrick, and Beltran had 2 Ks each.
The Marauders are now 22-9 overall and 7-5 in conference. Their next series begins on the road on Tuesday against West LA. They will host the Wildcats on Thursday, April 10, at 2:00 pm at AVC.
