AVC Baseball snapped a 5-game losing streak with wins over Porterville (24-4) and LA Piece (12-2) at home on Tuesday.
In the first game, Antelope Valley's bats were too much for the Pirates as they scored 24 runs off 18 hits with 1 error on the day. Joe Uribe led the attack going 3-for-4 with 7 RBI. Josh Nuno had 3 RBI off 2 hits, while Jack Rogers went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, including his third home run of the season. Meanwhile, Jack Taylor (3-for-3), Jason Zhang (3-for-5), Mason Johnson, Aidan Jbara, and Zach Terry all recorded 2 RBIs each.
Pitcher Matthew Toledo got the win on the mound going four innings with 5 strikeouts. Samuel Maudsley pitched three innings with 4 Ks in relief.
The Marauder offense stayed hot under the cool evening lights during game two with 12 runs off 7 hits and no errors. It was Joe Uribe leading the charge again with a 4-RBI grand slam in the bottom of the first inning. Aidan Jbara and Jason Zhang both had 2 two runs batted in, while Keon Moseni, Jack Rogers, Mason Johnson, and Jack Taylor had an RBI apiece.
Ethan Wendell was efficient on the mound striking out 10 of 24 batters faced in seven innings of work.
AVC will travel to Porterville and Bakersfield before returning home to face Bakersfield in game two of the three-game series on April 13th at 2:30 pm.
