AVC Baseball outlasted the Barstow Vikings 2-1 in a 12-inning defensive battle on Wednesday. The Vikings scored early, putting up their only run in the 1st inning. The Marauders tied it up when William Joseph hit an RBI single to score Zach Terry. The score remained 1-1 through three innings of additional play. It was William Joseph again with a walk-off RBI double to right-center field to score Ariv Camacho. Joseph finished 3-for-6 with two RBI.
AVC managed 10 hits and no errors, to Barstow's 5 hits and 2 errors. Starting pitcher Diego Villanueva struck out three batters in six innings of work. Ethan Wendell threw 42 strikes out of 63 pitches, striking out five batters to get the win.
The Marauders (3-3) will face Cerro Coso (5-2) at AVC on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
