Antelope Valley Baseball lost a home game to the Citrus Owls on Thursday.
The game was a defensive battle until the top of the 4th inning when the Marauders walked in the first of four runs. The Owls would capitalize with runners on base again in the 5th inning as they scored another three runs.
AVC cut into the seven-run lead in the bottom of the 5th when Nathan Duarte hit a two-run homer to make it 7-2. Duarte finished 3-4 with 2 RBI, and currently leads the Marauders on the season with 16 RBI and 2 home runs. His spark would be the only offense the Marauders would generate on the day. AVC managed two runs off of eight hits and two errors.
Frankie Linstrom went 2-3, while Nathan Hernandez finished 1-4 with a run scored. Peter Rodriguez managed three strikeouts, while George Mercado (L, 2-2) had one strikeout.
The Marauder will get (10-6) will get a chance to redeem themselves as they will face Citrus again on the road on Saturday.
