AVC Men's Baseball lost 15-3 in their first home game of the season against Rio Hondo on Saturday.

AVC Men's Baseball lost 15-3 in their first home game of the season against Rio Hondo on Saturday.
Rio Hondo scored a run first in the top of the 2nd inning, but the Marauders kept pace, scoring a run in the bottom of the inning off a wild pitch. They then took the lead in the 3rd inning when Christian Garcia doubled to right field scoring Tyler Vargas, and Nathan Duarte singled to left-center to score Garcia. AVC went scoreless for the rest of the game as the Roadrunners were able to add four runs in the 4th inning, and seven runs in the 5th to blow the game open.
Rio Hondo finished with 15 runs off 20 hits while AVC generated their three runs off eight hits.
Starting Pitcher Spencer Foley struck out three batters in three innings of work as he picked up his first loss of the season. George Mercado also struck out three batters in relief.
Antelope Valley is now 0-2 as they lost both games to the Roadrunners. They will face Imperial Valley on February 1st for a doubleheader starting at noon at AVC.
