LANCASTER - AVC Baseball got the best of West Hills Coalinga 13-4 and 8-2 in a pair of home games.
The Marauders jumped out to an early five-point lead in the first inning and never looked back. They kept the pressure on, scoring three runs in as many innings and adding another five points in the 5th. Wyatt Hendrie led the offensive attack with four hits and an RBI while Brandon Otis, Alec Sanchez, and Fabian Haro each had two RBI's.
AVC finished with 13 hits and 13 runs in an impressive offensive display during the first contest.
JJ Holiday got the win on the mound giving up only one run off two hits while striking out four batters.
The Marauders' bats stayed hot during the second game as they again started off with an early first inning lead scoring three. They added another two runs in the second inning and held the Falcons scoreless until the last inning.
Wyatt Hendrie had another great game offensively with three RBI's off two hits. Celso Castro IV, Jakob Russell, and JJ Holiday each chipped in with two hits. Griffin Hagen struck out six batters to get the win.
AVC has won 5 straight and improved to 5-3 on the season. They will play at Santa Barbara on Tuesday, February 19th before coming back home to take on Cerro Coso on Thursday the 21st.
