LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team had its most productive offensive output of the season, unfortunately it gave up the most runs it has all season with a 17-12 season ending loss at the hands of visiting College of the Canyons.
The Marauders (9-27, 5-16) ended their season with a six game losing streak. AVC swept three straight from West LA College, but lost its final six to LA Mission College and COC.
AVC pounded out 19 hits and led 11-6 after the completion of five innings. The Cougars rallied and scored 11 of the next 12 runs, including six in the top of the ninth inning.
Every starting player in both lineups had at least one hit, except one. AVC's Arturo Sanchez and John Serrato combined for eight hits and five RBI, both going 4-for-6. Aaron Hart was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI.
The score was tied 11-11 heading into the ninth inning as COC scored six runs taking a 17-11 lead. The Marauders could only respond with one run in the bottom of the ninth inning which ended their season.
