LANCASTER - For the second time in three days the Marauder baseball lost 6-1 to Bakersfield College, this time it was at home where AVC has lost nine consecutive games at Marauder Stadium.
The Marauders have only scored a total of four runs (one each game) in their past four games. Just like on Thursday, AVC scored a run in the first inning, but then were blanked the rest of the way.
Trailing 1-0, heading into the bottom of the first inning, shortstop Tyler Pittmon (2-for-4) singled to lead off the AVC attack. With two outs and Pittmon at third base, John Serrato singled in Pittmon to tie the score, 1-1. The Marauders' offense went stagnant the rest of the game.
Bakersfield's Monty Stevens stymied AVC bats on Thursday as he allowed only six hits and one run while striking out six. The Renegades came back on Saturday with starter Austin Toerner, who was as equally as impressive as Stevens. Toerner pitches seven innings, giving up only five hits, one run and had five strikeouts.
