GLENDALE - Only two days removed from an 11-1 drubbing at the hands of Glendale College on Tuesday afternoon, it's a good thing the Marauder baseball team has a short memory.
AVC traveled to Glendale on Thursday and got some revenge and with it ended its losing streak at five games, with a 9-6 victory over the Vaqueros.
Timothy Dodd hit a two-run home run in the top of the second inning giving the Marauders a 2-0 lead. Dodd drove in Ian Nelson, who had singled earlier in the inning. Dodd and Nelson combined for four hits, five RBI and five runs scored. Travis Tarnoff was 3-for-5 with three runs scored for the Marauders.
Leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning, Glendale touched up starting pitcher Shawn Hunt for four runs, giving it a 4-3 lead. AVC rallied in the fifth and sixth innings for five more runs giving it an 8-4 lead. The nine runs scored by the Marauders tied for the most they have scored all season.
