LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team committed four more errors Thursday afternoon in a 6-5 loss to Cerro Coso College at Antelope Valley College.
It was the second time in three days that the Coyotes have defeated the Marauders. On Tuesday, Cerro Coso had no trouble in an 11-2 victory against the Marauders.
In 11 games this season AVC has committed 27 errors. In the past three gams alone the Marauders have given up a total of 12 errors. The pitching has been solid with a team ERA of 3.90.
John Serrato was 2-for-4 at the plate for AVC and shortstop Tyler Pittmon was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
AVC trailed 4-0 after four inning but was able to respond with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning with the help from singles by Ian Nelson, Aaron Hart, Serrato and Aron Avila, getting the Marauders back into the game as they only trailed 4-3 at that point.
Trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Travis Tarnoff drove in Nelson with an RBI single. Serrato then singled and Tarnoff advanced to second. Aron Avila then reached on an error and the Marauders loaded the bases with only one out.
However, that rally was short lived as Arturo Sanchez struck out and Pittmon popped up to the Coyotes' Domonique Hernandez spoiling any rally.
