BARSTOW - Clayton Rabiej had another impressive outing for the Marauder baseball team helping lead his team to a 5-2 victory over Barstow College and with it snapped a three game losing streak by the Marauders.
Both wins this season for AVC have come when Rabiej has been on the mound including pitching a no hitter against Imperial Valley earlier this month.
Rabiej (2-2) has been superb this season with a 2.36 ERA. He has struck out 19 hitters in 26 innings pitched, including striking out seven Vikings on Tuesday. He finished the game with seven innings pitched and allowing only six hits.
"It was definitely more of a team win today. We scored early and often," Rabiej said. "That was key to the game. I was basically pitching to contact. My defense played well behind me."
Arturo Sanchez was bit at the plate for the Marauders finishing 3-for-4 and two RBI. Aron Avila was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and Travis Tarnoff had two RBI for AVC. The Marauders scored one run in four of the first five innings.
